Today, a brief invitation today to your own story, and not mine.
The Kore-eda Hirokazu film “After Life” proposes that the afterlife is a matter of living our most treasured memory for the rest of eternity. In it, each person entering the portal to the next life is given three days to decide what one memory they wish to relive for eternity, forgetting all others. We are invited to accompany the guides in this way-station as they help their guests in making their decision. Here is a link to the trailer (click)
What would yours be? What one memory is so precious that it would be the one you would hold, abandoning all others? Answering this simple question – in the film or in our hearts – is not easy.
